Meet Dora Jih — Founder & Owner

Season Tees started twenty years ago as something personal.

Dora launched the business as a clothing line featuring her father's Chinese calligraphy — brushwork she had embroidered onto clothing as a way to share his art with the world. As her children grew into competitive athletes, Dora found herself deep in the world of youth sports and saw a gap: teams needed a simple, beautiful way for parents and members to buy spirit-wear without the chaos of group orders and minimum requirements. Season Tees shifted to meet that need. The original calligraphy line found its own home — it became Jih Tees.

Twenty years later, Season Tees is still run entirely by Dora. Every store is built by her. Every order is handled personally.

THE PERSON BEHIND EVERY STORE

You’re working with Dora

Dora Jih is a Cornell University graduate in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering (B.S. and M.S.) with an MBA — which means she brings real business thinking to every client relationship, not just creative instinct.

She has raced triathlon for 20 years, completed 16 Ironmans including the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, and is now a triathlon coach, fitness instructor, and trail ultramarathon runner. Her clients naturally skew toward the world she lives in — swim clubs, triathlon teams, fitness centers, sports organizations. She understands that community from the inside.

Dora swims with Walnut Creek Masters — her team, her people, and what she'll tell you is the happiest place on earth. Running their team store isn't just business. It's outfitting her own crew in the comfortable, cozy apparel they actually want to wear to practice. That's the standard she holds for every store she builds.

THE FAMILY BEHIND THE BRAND

Season Tees has always been a family story.

Dora founded Season Tees shortly after her first daughter, Ava, was born. It started as what is now Jih Tees, embroidered Chinese character designs on shirts for babies, kids, and adults expressive of who they are! Season Tees morphed into providing apparel for teams, as Dora began outfitting her kids’ swim teams - Walnut Creek Aquanuts and Crow Canyon Sea Lions. Today athletics still runs deep in the family. Dora's daughter Ava — a Stanford graduate and ASIC design engineer at Nvidia — won her age group at Ironman California in 2024, earning her slot at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, where she raced in 2025. Her daughter Ana graduated from UCLA in 2025 as a Division 1 swimmer and Female Scholar Athlete, discovered a passion for running, and raced the LA Marathon in March 2026 — with a goal of qualifying for Boston already in her sights. In February, Dora and Ana ran a 50K ultramarathon together. Her son Aidan is a mechanical engineering student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo — and yes, his fraternity AEPi has a Season Tees store too.

The drive, the discipline, and the pride in doing things well: it runs in the family. And it shows up in every store Season Tees builds.

TWO BRANDS, ONE PHILOSOPHY

Introducing Jih Tees

The Season Tees logo is the Jih family name written in her father's Chinese calligraphy — the character means "season." It's where the name comes from, and it's a reminder that this business has always been rooted in family, craft, and something made with care.

The original calligraphy clothing line lives on at Jih Tees — wearable art featuring original brushwork by Dora's father, now 92, who writes every single day.
